Recap

11 teams set out from Chicago, Illinois and raced for $1,000,000. In Iceland, Meredith & Maria took a wrong turn. But Jonathan & Victoria had bigger problems with each other. Avi & Joe had trouble finding the buoy containing the next clue. And when they pulled in the wrong entrance to the pit stop, they were the first team to be eliminated.

In the next leg, teams had several problems with directions, and their cars. Adam & Rebecca feuded after Adam accidentally left his sunglasses in the Viking boat. Meredith & Maria fell behind when Maria had trouble driving a stick. Comedy of errors ensued. Freddy & Kendra lost their clue, and broke the rules by taking a duplicate clue. Lena & Kristy took a longer route to the pit stop. Don & Mary Jean accidentally took Adam & Rebecca's car and eventually returned it. But Meredith & Maria couldn't recover and were eliminated.

In the next leg, teams competed in a bar made of ice, while Gus & Hera got lost in the dark. A Detour based on counting baffled Bolo, and made Don desperate. At the Roadblock, the men excelled, while Victoria had fever issues. But it was Lena who struggled the most. Lena worked into the night, but even with Kristy's moral support, the hidden clue remained hopelessly out of reach and the sisters were eliminated.

In the next leg, the African culture makes Kendra uncomfortable, but made Don & Mary Jean pleased. A fishy detour made some teams sick. And a taxi fare forces Lori to go head-to-head with Bolo. The salty roadblock made Adam blind, but Mary Jean's hard work brought Don to tears.

Then, teams made a ceremonial tribute to slavery that touches Gus & Hera. Hayden & Aaron and Lori & Bolo go head-to-head at the airport. In Berlin, Don & Mary Jean misread their clue and went to the church rather than the broken chain sculpture. An immature Gus wanted to keep drinking beer. In a footrace to the pit stop, Jonathan ditched his bag, but Victoria picked it up from being stolen, and Freddy & Kendra landed first, while an enraged Jonathan shoved Victoria. Don & Mary Jean couldn't recover from their mistake and were eliminated.

In the next leg, teams found uneasy for driving small cars called the trabbants. Lori & Bolo had problems with their car, and missed the train to Hungary, but caught a break, when the other teams had to wait for the gate to open at 10 am. In a dash for the cluebox, the gate came crashing back down injuring Hera, and Freddy who got into a rage. At the Detour, Gus & Hera struggled to paddle. Lori & Bolo claimed the Fast Forward and triumphed. Teams struggled with the spicy soup, and Jonathan loses patience with Victoria. But Gus & Hera got lost finding the restaurant and had an emotional farewell.

In the next leg, teams flew to Corsica where Adam had some difficulties in the Fast Forward, but he overcame claustrophobia and the former dating couple landed first. At the Roadblock, Jonathan had problems with the plug. But Hayden & Aaron had more problems with navigation and finished last but were not eliminated.

In the next leg, Rebecca spilled the beans to Kris & Jon, upsetting Adam and the couple bickered. At the Detour, Victoria injured her finger, but Jonathan didn't pay attention. Adam & Rebecca yielded Freddy & Kendra. But Jonathan & Victoria misread their clue taking only one donkey, when they should've taken two. In the end, they could not recover from their mistake and were eliminated.

In the next leg, Adam & Rebecca missed the train. Adam wanted to give up, and Rebecca gave Adam a dose of his own medicine. At the Detour, Hayden struggled to cross the ropes. But at the Roadblock, it was Lori & Bolo who didn't fully read the directions when Lori forgot her ticket, and the pro wrestlers were eliminated.

In the next leg, Kris & Jon had problems with their taxi. But Freddy & Kendra gave Adam & Rebecca a dose of their own medicine and yielded them. Adam & Rebecca couldn't recover but were not eliminated.

In the next leg, teams grew frustrated at the Roadblock, but it was Hayden who had trouble the most. In the end, Hayden & Aaron received a four-hour penalty and were eliminated. Aaron surprised Hayden for a proposal. Hayden accepted.

In the final leg, Adam & Rebecca missed the flight to Hawaii. Teams then flew back to Chicago, where an incoming train stopped Kris & Jon from passing Freddy & Kendra who raced across the finish line and became the official winners of The Amazing Race.
