After making a ceremonial tribute to the slavery, the statue touches Gus & Hera and Gus got emotional about his mother's death. In the footrace to the Pit Stop for first place, it came down to Jonathan & Victoria and Freddy & Kendra. Jonathan sets down his backpack. Fearing it would be stolen, Victoria picked it up lagging behind. Freddy & Kendra passed her. Jonathan rushed back in anger and Freddy & Kendra took 1st Place. After the 1st place loss, Jonathan shoved Victoria. Don & Mary Jean struggled to find a route marker before realizing that they misread the clue that route marker is actually by the broken chain sculpture rather than the church and were eliminated
