11 teams set out from Santa Monica and raced for $1,000,000. Jim injured his knee badly, but he and his daughter, Marsha got on the flight in time. In Uraguay, teams struggled to carry a 55 pound slab of meat. Dennis politely gave the taxi to Colin & Christie upsetting Erika. Chip & Kim and Kami & Karli missed the cluebox. But Dennis & Erika couldn't recover and were eliminated. In the next leg, teams grew frustrated with dogs during the detour. Alison & Donny fared the worst. Teams kept on switching buses and taxis. Alison & Donny couldn't recover and were eliminated. In the next leg, Jim & Marsha suffered a ticketing error and were left stranded. Marshall can't get his teeth to work at the Roadblock. But Jim & Marsha couldn't catch up and were eliminated. In the next leg, teams scrambled for a flight to Saint Petersberg. Colin & Christie led the way, until a roadblock involving eating caviar made Christie squirm. Chip's iron stomach propelled him and Kim to first place. Nicole became ill, but confidentally finished it. Bob & Joyce couldn't recover from a ticket snafu and were eliminated. In the next leg, teams flew to Cairo, Egypt where Colin & Christie took the Fast Forward and triumphed. Then in Giza, Marshall's aching knees but him and Lance to the back of the pack. The brothers arrvied last at the Roadblock and they became the first team in Amazing Race history to quit. In the next leg, Colin & Christie tries to block Charla & Mirna. But some fancy footwork helped the cousins and Linda & Karen in the lead, until an airport delay put them in the back of the pack. Colin found the going rough at the Roadblock and Chip excelled again. Charla & Mirna couldn't make up lost time and were eliminated. In the next leg, Colin had an argument with the cab driver and was led to the police station. His protests couldn't get the boss's attention and payed the fare the cab driver wanted and stormed off and tensions rose between him and Christie. But they reconciled after landing first once again. Then in India, Brandon & Nicole went for the Fast Forward. But they found out that they have to cut off all their hair and came in last but were not eliminated. In the next leg, Kami & Karli had some airport woes. Then they got lost on the way to Rotorua and couldn't catch up and were eliminated. In the next leg, Chip & Kim yielded Colin & Christie. Then the dating couple clashed at the detour, but were not eliminated. In the next leg, Colin & Christie remained last, until Karen struggled to ascend a rock wall at the roadblock, and the bowling moms were eliminated. In the next leg, teams flew to Canada where Brandon & Nicole floundered at the Detour, while Chip & Kim took a couple of wipeouts. But even though they arrived last the airport, they discovered that the American Airline flight to which Colin & Christie and Brandon & Nicole booked on was delayed by the fog. The married parents booked the United Airlines flight which is faster. When the other teams found out, they tried desperately to join the married parents on the United flight. But in Denver, they receieved a nasty shock when they found out their bags that were tagged on the American Airlines flight meant they could not switch to United. They offered to ditch the bags, but it was against the rules of the FAA. The mishap allowed Chip & Kim to run across the finish line and become the official winners of The Amazing Race.
