Star Wars is a well-known space opera science fiction film series created by George Lucas. It is set "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" where an evil empire rules over many planets, aliens and robots are plentiful and co-mingle with humans on multiple worlds, and a power known as "the Force" is omnipresent. Some individuals have the ability to access and manipulate the Force, and the most prominent of these is a group of do-gooders known as the Jedi.

There were six movies total, starting with the original Star Wars (later renamed to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) released in 1977, and concluding with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith released in 2005 (episodes 4-6 were filmed first). Multiple Star Wars television programs have also been released.
