Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an episodic animated science fiction program which takes place during the "Clone Wars" between the second and third prequel Star Wars films. Unlike the series of shorts which preceded it, The Clone Wars will be animated with state-of-the-art computer graphics and not focus primarily on Anakin Skywalker's escapades during the war. Creator George Lucas has said that episodes will be stand-alone and will cover a variety of topics and people within the Star Wars universe. It airs on the You Are Here block on Cartoon Network, and it has been announced that encores will air on TNT, though none have been scheduled yet.
The series was preceded by a feature film that was released to movie theaters on August 15, 2008. In total, over 100 episodes are planned and, as of September 2007, 40 have been completed according to TV Guide.
Starting in April 2009, episodes were rerun under the title Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decoded. The episodes themselves are the same, but they are run with pop-up facts throughout the episode.
