David Cross is an American comedian and actor most well known for creating Mr. Show with Bob and David and his role on Arrested Development.

David Cross was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1964. He attended Emerson College in Boston, MA and soon began performing comedy there. It was in Boston that Cross met future collaborator John Ennis. David Cross went on to write for The Ben Stiller Show with Bob Odenkirk for which he won a shared Emmy for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in a Variety or Music Program". David eventually reconnected with Bob Odenkirk in Los Angeles and began performing a live comedy show with him and Brian Posehn. This show, eventually called Mr. Show, became a half-hour sketch comedy series on HBO in 1995. He was nominated for writing and music Emmys in 1998 for Mr. Show with Bob and David but lost to The Dennis Miller Show and The Simpsons respectively. He was nominated for writing again in 1999 but lost to The Chris Rock Show. In 2002 David released his first stand-up comedy album, called "Shut Up You Fucking Baby", and followed it with 2004's "It's Not Funny". Since 2003 David has appeared on the cult hit Arrested Development which won the 2004 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. Cross and his costars were also nominated for a Screen Actor's Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series but lost to Desperate Housewives. He also appears on an irregular basis as Russ Lieber, the radio host archnemesis of Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report.
