Aqua Teen Hunger Force (2000—) is a 15-minute animated comedy series about "3 fast food products living in New Jersey [who] claim to be detectives but, in reality, just sit around and do whatever." The series was one of several that founded the basis for Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad make up the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Frylock, a hovering box of fries, is the intelligent one in the group, and the only reason they manage to survive; Meatwad is a well-intentioned yet very stupid wad of leftover meat that is somehow sentient; and Master Shake, a cup, is an arrogant egomaniac who makes life miserable for Frylock and especially Meatwad. The three live next door to Carl Brutananadilewski, an everyman who often gets caught in the crossfire.

The Mooninites, a duo of punks who live on the moon, and the Plutonians, dimwitted space aliens presumably from Pluto, also make recurring appearances. At one point, the Mooninites and Plutonians were considered for a spin-off pilot called Spacecataz, but it was eventually decided that there wasn't enough there to support a series and the pilot was cut into openings for the third season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is written and directed by Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro. It is produced by Williams Street Studios, who also produces other animated shows such as The Brak Show and Sealab 2021. Noted 1980s rapper Schoolly D performs the theme song.

The title of the show is a decided misnomer: The characters have no major affiliation with water (though many episodes involve their neighbor's pool), they aren't teenagers (although their ages are never really established, it has been revealed that Meatwad isn't old enough to smoke or drink), and they are rarely shown as any kind of a force. "Hunger" seems to be the only word that has a bearing on the characters' lives.
