From The TV IV
The New Scooby-Doo Movies is an animated comedy that aired on CBS. It is the second in a series of Scooby-Doo cartoons.
While this series follows a similar format of the previous show, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You, it differs in two ways—the show doubled in length to 60 minutes, and each episode featured celebrity guests in the form of animated versions of real people, like Don Knotts and the Harlem Globetrotters, or fictional characters from other cartoons, like Batman and Robin and the Addams Family. In some cases where animated versions of deceased or retired celebrities (like The Three Stooges or Laurel and Hardy) appeared, celebrity impersonators provided their voices.
The first season of episodes were animated in Hollywood. Season two (eight episodes) were produced in Australia. Hanna-Barbera Productions produced the series, with distribution by Warner Bros. Television.
