The Perils of Penelope Pitstop is an animated comedy that aired on CBS. This show, along with Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, was a spinoff of Wacky Races.

In this series, which takes place around the era of Mack Sennett's silent film comedies, Penelope is an heiress to her father's fortune. That fortune is secretly coveted by Penelope's guardian, Sylvester Sneekly, who dons a disguise as The Hooded Claw and puts Penelope in dire situations in an effort to get rid of her and acquire her fortune. The Claw's henchmen, the Bully Brothers, are as much a hinderance as they are assistance. Bumbling in to rescue Penelope are the Ant Hill Mob (another Wacky Races holdover).

The show debut on September 13, 1969 on CBS at 10 AM Eastern. Six months later, it was moved to 12:30 PM (switching places with Wacky Races). In the second year, it was moved to Sundays at 9:30 AM.
