Season Fourteen of The Scooby-Doo Show premiered on September 7, 1985. It was the last seasons of the show and aired under the title The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.

This show was unique among Scooby-Doo series because it has a specific running plot that revolves around capturing 13 ghosts. As the season begins, Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, Daphne and Scrappy-Doo run into a young con-artist, Flim-Flam, and a mysterious mentor, Vincent Van Ghoul. Two ghosts trying to be important, Weerd and Bogle, trick Shaggy and Scooby into opening a chest containing 13 demons which escape and fly off to parts unknown. Because they were the ones to let the demons escape, Scooby and his pals, along with Flim-Flam, are the ones who have to retrieve them, with some assistance by Van Ghoul.

All the ghosts were not retrieved by the series' finale. One remained at large, and this was resolved in the 2019 DVD feature Scooby Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost.
