Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo is an animated comedy that aired on ABC. It is the fifth in a series of Scooby-Doo cartoons. It is the first one to feature Scooby-Doo's nephew Scrappy-Doo.
The series is like the past Scooby shows except as where Scooby is an admitted coward, Scrappy is brash, impulsive and brave. Yet he sees his uncle Scooby as a hero and pushes him in to face the ghosts and monsters. It is widely considered that the appearance of Scrappy was not only one of the worst cases of TV nepotism but also where fans think that Scooby-Doo "jumped the shark." In spite of that, Scrappy would continually appear in Scooby shows through 1988. He would also be mocked and villified visually in the 2002 live-action Scooby-Doo theatrical movie.
