Behind the Scenes

  • Missing in Action: Emilie de Ravin does not appear in part 1 of this episode and Henry Ian Cusick does not appear in part 2.
  • Preview: ABC held a contest on their website, offering 815 winners a USB drive shaped like a Dharma Initiative key containing the first 4 minutes and 12 seconds of this episode. Contestants had to fill out a form and correctly answer six questions about the series to be eligible and winners were selected on January 18, 2010. Those winners received the USB drive inside a bottle with a note reading "Nothing's Irreversible." The footage was leaked onto the internet on January 29, 2010.
  • Beach Screening and Internet Leak: On January 30, 2010 a free public preview screening of this episode was held on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii which was reportedly attended by 12,000 fans. The following day a copy of the episode was posted on the internet that was filmed during this screening. Reportedly the picture quality was decent but the audio was extremely hard to hear due to the large noisy crowd. Although the episode was leaked online, many bloggers and journalists noted that many fans were uninterested in seeing a poor quality version a couple of days before it aired.
