Family is a Canadian premium television channel owned by WildBrain (formerly DHX Media).
From its first sign-on in 1988, it primarily aired programming from Disney Channel in the United States, but it does also produce and air some original programming. Beginning in January 2016, Family parent DHX Media's program supply agreement with the American Disney Channel ended as those rights transferred exclusively to Corus Entertainment, owner of the Canadian version of Disney Channel, at which point Family began airing DHX-owned content, shows licenced from DreamWorks Animation and other acquired programs with a similar emphasis on children in the 8-to-14-year age bracket.
