ABC Family is an American cable television network, currently owned by Disney. ABC Family was originally founded in 1977 as "CBN Cable", which changed the name to simply "Family Channel", and in 1997 the rights were purchased by FOX, and named "Fox Family". Fox Family was sold to ABC in 2001, and they named the channel "ABC Family". ABC Family can be seen in over 88 million households worldwide, and has several original programming series, as well as original movies and acquired programs.
