The Disney Afternoon (TDA) was a daytime programming block airing in first-run syndication during the 1990s.

Disney's first attempt with syndicated animation had been in 1987, with DuckTales, and in September 1989, new DuckTales episodes were paired with new episodes of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, which had premiered as a Disney Channel original series earlier that year.

The DuckTales/Rescue Rangers pairing was well received and the following year, the fall of 1990, the two series was packed together with new episodes of long running Saturday morning cartoon Adventures of the Gummi Bears and new creation TaleSpin for a 120 minute animated block, targeting school kids returning home from school: The Disney Afternoon.

The following years, each new fall season would see a new line up - one of the previous series would be replaced with a new show, while the other three remained, although without any new episodes.

In 1991 Darkwing Duck replaced Gummi Bears, 1992 saw the removal of DuckTales and the introduction of Goof Troop, and in 1993 Rescue Rangers left to make room for Bonkers.

The fall of 1994 had TaleSpin leaving while Aladdin was added, while Bonkers was replaced by other, new, series two days a week: The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show on Mondays and Gargoyles on Fridays, making the 1994-1995 season of the block the one with most all-new episodes shown since the premiere year.

In 1995, Darkwing Duck was no longer on the schedule, while the Bonkers reruns were back full time. Shnookums & Meat was taken off the schedule due to poor audience reception, and new episodes of Gargoyles were shown four days a week, while its Friday slot was given to the only newcomer of the year - Timon and Pumbaa.

The lineup for the 1996-1997 season, the last year for the block, included the return of Darkwing Duck and the continuation of Gargoyles and Aladdin (all three in reruns), while the final slot was given to new episodes of the returning Timon & Pumba (Mondays), and new shows Quack Pack (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) and Mighty Ducks (Fridays).

While the Disney Afternoon name didn't return for the fall of 1997, Disney continued to offer an untitled block of 90 minutes, consisting of reruns of DuckTales, The Mighty Ducks and Quack Pack (the latter two sharing slot) and episodes of new series 101 Dalmatians. This continued during the fall of 1998, with reruns of 101 Dalmatians and Saturday morning show Doug, as well as new show Hercules.

The fall of 1999 introduced the formal successor to The Disney Afternoon: UPN's Disney's One Too (an offshoot of the ABC Saturday morning block Disney's One Saturday Morning).
