The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show is an animated comedy, that aired in Syndication. It was the last of three mid-1990's Disney shows to feature shorts and was a somewhat edgier comedy than Disney's previous TV productions - the other two being Raw Toonage and Marsupilami.
Overview
Each episode of the show include three segments: the title segment, Shnookums & Meat, followed a cat (Shnookums) and a dog (Meat), as they sought to outwit each other, in a spirit close to other frenemy animated couples such as Tom and Jerry and Ren and Stimpy (whose style of animation and humor influenced that of Shnookums & Meat). Also included are Pith Possum: Super-Dynamic Possum of Tomorrow, spoofing superhero cartoons in general and Batman in particular, and Tex Tinstar: The Best in the West, telling the extraordinary story of a Wild West cowboy in serialized episodes.
While Pith Possum and Tex Tinstar was created for this series, the Shnookums & Meat cartoons first appeared as a part of Marsupilami in 1993 - five of the 13 Shnookums & Meat segments had their first airing as a part of that show.
