Season Fourteen of Soul Train premiered on September 22, 1984. Soul Train experienced a change in the set design: instead of the futuristic shapes, there are neon lighted city buildings. Don's podium has a neon train on the wall instead of the sectioned wall train in previous years. This will be the main set until 1993.
