Season Nineteen of Soul Train premiered on September 23, 1989.
In this season, George Duke composed a third revamped version of "TSOP" ("TSOP '89"). The opening sequence is different than the one before it, with the choir singing "People all over the world", only this time, lighting appeared twice when a train is running, and when a train is moving. Again, the dancers are dancing following the transitions.
