KAMR-TV is an NBC affiliate in Amarillo, Texas, broadcasting digital channel 19, displayed as virtual 4. KAMR-TV is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group. KAMR-TV operates KCPN-LP on digital subchannel 4.2 and also seen on Suddenlink. KAMR was founded on March 18, 1953 as call letters KGNC-TV. The Globe-News sold the station to Stauffer Communications in 1966, which in turn sold off KGNC-TV. In 1974, KGNC-TV changed it call letters to KAMR-TV and was acquired by Cannan Communications. Cannan then sold the station to KAMR-TV to Quorum Broadcasting in 1999. The station was acquired by Nexstar Broadcasting Group after merging with Quorum Broadcasting in 2003.
KAMR is rebroadcast on 18 translators throughout the Texas Panhandle.
