seaQuest DSV is a series created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced by Steven Spielberg. It really never found an audience which led to near constant retooling of the show and led to its eventual cancelation.

The show focuses on humanity's colonization and exploration of Earth's oceans in the near future, particularly the crew of the world's most advanced submarine, the SeaQuest DSV.

For season three, the name of the series changed to seaQuest 2032 and the story advanced ten years. After an adventure which left the crew missing in action for a decade, they find themselves with little memory of said mission and facing a world that is now in war. The submarine's former captain retires to take care of his orphaned grandson, and a new and harder commander is assigned the ship's captain position, among other new officers.
