- They replaced the "Big Wheels" theme with "Changing Keys".
- They had the turning letter puzzle board, with 4 rows and 48 trilons, with the double-arched light border. The puzzle board had 11 trilons on the top-and-bottom rows, and 13 trilons on the two middle rows.
- They had the sunflower backdrops behind the contestants, and the eggcrate light scoreboards. All of the other future backdrops were all in red, yellow and blue. The sunflower backdrops were used until June 1989.
