- The Free Spin wedge is now a token. Now a contestant has to call a letter in order to pick it up.
- Starting this season, if a contestants lands on a prize, they call a letter first, then pick up the prize. Originally they picked up the prize first, then called a letter.
- The diamond-shaped backdrops that were first used only for road shows became permanent for the next two years.
- The scoreboards are upgraded to seven-digit readouts.
- The gray floor was replaced with a shiny black linoleum floor.
