From The TV IV
The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo is an animated comedy that aired on ABC. It is the tenth in a series of Scooby-Doo cartoons. This show was unique among Scooby-Doo series because it has a specific running plot that revolves around capturing 13 ghosts.
The series begins with Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, Daphne and Scrappy-Doo running into a young con-artist, Flim Flam, and a mysterious mentor, Vincent Van Ghoul. Two ghosts trying to be important, Weerd and Bogle, trick Shaggy and Scooby into opening a chest containing 13 demons which escape and fly off to parts unknown. Because they were the ones to let the demons escape, Scooby and his pals, along with Flim Flam, are the ones who have to retrieve them, with some assistance by Van Ghoul.
In spite of Scooby's seniority on Saturday morning, this series was getting clobbered in the ratings by It's Punky Brewster on NBC. The 13 Ghosts Of Scooby Doo had its final telecast on March 1, 1986 and was replaced a week later by Scooby's Mystery Funhouse, which just featured episodes taken from the various Scooby-Doo series since 1980.
