Basic Information

Before Oceanic 815

Martin Keamy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1996 and served with distinction until 2001, rising to the rank of First Sergeant before being honorably discharged from the service. Since then Keamy worked with a number of mercenary organizations, including several operating in Uganda. While not operating abroad as a mercenary, Keamy lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After Oceanic 815

Season Four

Keamy was hired by Charles Widmore to lead five other mercenaries aboard the freighter Kahana. The freighter was dispatched by Widmore from Fiji to locate the island. Other members of the expedition were told by Keamy that he was to act as a security detail to find and locate Benjamin Linus and to escort him back to the mainland. However, Keamy's true objective was to locate Ben, killing anyone who got in the way, and to kill everyone else on the island. As the freighter traveled to the supposed location of the island, Keamy and his men honed their skills on deck with skeet shooting. Michael Dawson, aboard the freighter under the alias Kevin Johnson, approached Keamy about why they needed guns for a rescue mission. Keamy was amused by Michael's comments and continued firing.

On Ben's orders, Michael eventually disabled the freighter's communications equipment and engines, stranding the vessel roughly 80 nautical miles from the island. However, expedition leader Naomi Dorrit located the island after her helicopter went down while flying overhead. Her satellite phone was eventually used to contact the freighter and its communications officer, George Minkowski, got a fix on her location and subsequently the island. Another helicopter was dispatched to the island, flown by pilot Frank Lapidus, who eventually returned with Sayid Jarrah and Desmond Hume. Keamy was not happy with Frank for bringing back two people from the island.

Frank eventually brought Keamy and his mercenaries to the island, putting them down just outside the barracks. He and his men ambushed Danielle Rousseau, Alexandra Rousseau and Karl. Karl was killed, Rousseau wounded and Alex captured. Keamy used Alex to turn off the sonar fence protecting the barracks, but Alex was able to trip an alarm to give some warning to the occupants of the barracks: John Locke, Sawyer, Hurley, Claire and her son Aaron, several other Oceanic survivors and Ben. Despite having a few minutes warning, Keamy's men killed three of the Oceanic survivors and blew up the house Claire was in, nearly killing her. The survivors took refuge in Ben's house. Keamy freed fellow expedition member Miles Straume, who was a prisoner of Locke's, and had him bring a walkie talkie to Ben. Keamy ordered Ben to surrender himself, but Ben refused as he knew everyone else would be killed. Alex was brought out and Keamy again ordered Ben to surrender, threatening to execute Alex should Ben not comply with his command. Ben again refused and attempted to persuade Keamy that Alex wasn't really his daughter and meant nothing to him, but Keamy coldly and calmly executed Alex without hesitation before disappearing into the jungle to prepare for a night assault. Ben was stunned by what happened, that the rules had been changed, and so took action by directing the smoke monster into the barracks. The smoke monster attacked Keamy and his men, allowing the survivors of psychopathic Keamy's attack to flee and giving Ben time to say goodbye to his daughter.
