WMAZ-TV is the CBS affiliate for Macon, Georgia, broadcasting on digital channel 13. It has a subcarrier on channel 13.3 that runs the station's Doppler weather radar.
WMAZ signed on in 1953 under ownership of Southeastern Broadcasting. It was the TV counterpart of WMAZ radio (940 AM, now under the call WMAC). The radio station was a CBS affiliate, so WMAZ-TV would have CBS as primary. It carried Dumont, NBC and ABC as secondaries until Dumont went dark in 1956, WCWB (now WMGT/channel 41 signed as an NBC affiliate in 1968, and WGXA/channel 24 signed on as an ABC affiliate (now with FOX). During that time, regular programming from other networks came via cable, with ABC coming from channel 11 (WLWA, WAII, WQXI, WXIA) in Atlanta and WTVM/channel 9 in Columbus and NBC from WSB/channel 2 in Atlanta and WTVM (as secondary in Columbus). Cable systems in Macon also carried CBS affiliates WAGA/channel 5 in Atlanta (now FOX) and WRBL/channel 3 in Columbus. It made a bid to operate on channel 7 in its early stages, but it was not successful.
WMAZ is currently owned by Gannett (owners of Atlanta stations WXIA and WATL.
