Trivia
- Originally, Rob Thomas intended to use Veronica Mars as the main character of a novel he was writing.
- In the original project notes, several ideas were dropped before they met fruition including: Veronica being 13 when Lilly was murdered, Keith being fired because of dissappearing evidence (as well as hints that Don Lamb framed him), a character named Strom Jenkins who called in the Abel Koontz tip and the ultimate relevation that there was a larger conspiracy to cover up Lilly's death (headed by Strom Jenkins, Don Lamb and Jake Kane).
- Because UPN was concerned that viewers would confuse Teddy Dunn and Jason Dohring, a color code was instituted for the early episodes where Dunn wore shades of blue and Dohring wore earth tones. It was decided to keep the code and, as of mid-second season, it is still in effect.
