Plot Overview

Seishiro says nothing stands in his way now, so he brings out the feather and summons more oni. Several merge into one. Kusanagi, Yuzuriha, Souma, and Ryuoh see it and identify it as the I-3 oni.

At the cafe, Kurogane is quietly meditating. The I-3 oni flies straight at him, but he stands up and attacks it, destroying it quickly. The other oni hunters arrive.

Back in the plaza, Seishiro says he must act quickly, as there are others who stand in his way. He sends out another wave of energy.

Ryuou starts to worry, saying that when they get ejected from the game, they won't know who anyone is. He and Yuzuriha start asking for everyone's real name. Kurogane and Mokona have no idea what they're talking about. The wave passes over the building, and everyone disappears. At Clover, Oruha starts to disappear too, but she is not worried at all.

A woman's voice says that a guest has died and has been expelled from the land of Ōto. It is Syaoran, inside an egg-shaped "Dream" capsule. Someone knocks on the back of the capsule, and when he turns around he sees Fai. Fai points across the room, and Syaoran sees Sakura in another capsule. The capsules open, and they run to each other. When they look up, they see Mokona and Kurogane, still asleep in their capsules.

Fai leads them out of the room and explains they died in the land of Ōto, but Ōto is not real. They are in fact, inside Fairy Park - an amusement park in the country of Edonis. But none of them remembers ever actually traveling there. The park's creator, Chitose, enters and explains that their memories were erased when they first arrived. The memories come back suddenly, and they remember arriving in Edonis. Mokona had dropped them straight into the Dream Capsules, which were then automatically activated by the system.

Fai explains that Ōto is virtual reality, a game. Syaoran realizes it makes sense, because City Hall could track the oni and the oni only attacked oni hunters. But oddly enough, he still has his sword. Chitose says that a horrible anamoly has taken place, so they closed the park and evacuated all the guests. She wants to know what Syaoran knows about the person disturbing the system - Seishiro. A siren starts to sound, and Kurogane and Mokona disappear from their capsules. Chitose says that the interferer is trying to merge the virtual and real worlds. The I-3 oni appears, with Seishiro on top of it. Patches of Ōto start to appear in Fairy Park, and the group of oni hunters materializes there. They are all confused, because they are in the real world, but still appear as their avatars from the game. They see the oni with Seishiro on it. Kurogane remarks he has the eyes of a killer, tosses Mokona to Souma, and strides toward the oni. He has decided he is calling the shots now.

Chitose doesn't understand how Seishiro could merge the two worlds, but Syaoran figures he must have Sakura's feather. The system says another invader has been spotted. It is Kurogane.

Kurogane asks if Seishiro is the one who killed Fai, and he says yes. He asks what happened to Syaoran, and Seishiro says he killed him, too. Kurogane says he will kill Seishiro, and he attacks. He just barely misses, cutting Seishiro's cloak off. Seishiro puts on his glasses, and says it's been a while since he had fun.

Syaoran, Sakura, Fai, and Chitose run up to join the others. Mokona is overjoyed to see Fai. The tail of the oni almost comes down on all of them, so they run for cover. Chitose says they must stop the power that the interferer has. Syaoran says it's what he's been looking for. Ryuou says he said that before, and lends his support to Syaoran. Everyone else says they will help too. They all leap in to battle the oni, while Kurogane duels with Seishiro in the distance.

Seishiro forms a sword with his powers, and it morphs and changes while Kurogane strikes with his own sword. Seishiro taunts Kurogane by mentioning Syaoran repeatedly, but Kurogane doesn't take the bait. Kurogane remarks that he ran out of people to battle in Japan, so he's glad he got to travel to other worlds. Seishiro mentions the curse that Tomoyo put upon Kurogane - every time he kills someone, his strength will decrease. Kurogane figures he better do a good job, then. They leap in the air and strike at each other, but just before they connect, Mokona launches a ball of energy that puts up a post between them. Kurogane turns and he sees Syaoran and Fai are still alive.

Seishiro declares the fight over for now. He uses the feather to call forth the I-1 oni. A giant red winged creature appears, holding the I-1 oni in its hand - Oruha.

CLAMP References

  • Chobits: Chitose is the manager and one of the creators of Fairy Park here. She appears to be at technology-inclined as her Chobits counterpart.
  • Angelic Layer: The "Dream Capsules" look like the Angel Eggs. In fact, in Angelic Layer the eggs have even been said to contain dreams.
  • Chobits & Angelic Layer: Though the connection was removed in the anime, these two works also take place in the same continuity. Chobits is set several years after Angelic Layer. This is notable since Chitose Hibiya worked at Piffle Princess, the company that manufactured the Angelic Layer system. So there is a connection between her and the Angel Eggs that appear in the park she built here.
