The Goa'uld are a highly intelligent race of eel-like creatures. They possess genetic memory, and can pass down their memories to their offspring. They have no gender, but there are queen creatures that can produce many offspring. Physically weak, they prefer to use human hosts. A Goa'uld is a malevolent entity that dominates the host. They can live far longer then a Tok'Ra, because of their use of the Sarcophagas device, however being deprived of the use of it can cause rapid aging.
The Tok'Ra, or "Against Ra" are an offshoot of the Goa'uld species that rejects the parasitic ways of the Goa'uld. They are a resistance movement to the Goa'uld system lords. The Tok'Ra share control with the human host in a symbotic relationship. The human host is granted the knowledge of the Tok'Ra and increased regeneration and a greatly increased lifespan.
Land of Light
The Unas are a race of sentient, yet primitive aliens living on the Goa'uld homeworld. They are extrordinarilarly durable. They were the first hosts the Goa'uld used. After the Goa'uld spread out into the galaxy, they abandoned their former homeworld.
