Spider-Man is a super-hero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in August 1962 for Marvel Comics. He is easily the most recognizable and popular super-hero from the Marvel Comics universe and may well be the most popular super-hero overall next to Superman and Batman. Because of his popularity, Spider-Man has spawned many spin-off endeavors including movies and TV shows.
A Spider-Man series has been featured on each of the five major US networks: ABC (Spider-Man), CBS (The Amazing Spider-Man), NBC (Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends), FOX (Spider-Man: The Animated Series) and The CW (The Spectacular Spider-Man). He has additionally been featured in syndication (Spider-Man) and two cable networks, MTV (Spider-Man: The New Animated Series) and Disney XD (The Spectacular Spider-Man).
