The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008– ) is an animated superhero action series that airs on the CW4Kids programming block (formerly Kids WB) on The CW. It is the eighth US TV series (and seventh animated series) to be based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man. Unlike the previous Spider-Man series, Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, this series doesn't follow the Spider-Man film series continuity. Instead, supervising producer Greg Weisman decided that the series follows the direction and attitude originally established by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The show starts with Peter Parker starting his junior year at Midtown Manhattan Magnet High School, having just recently been bitten by a radioactive spider which turned him into Spider-Man. He is facing super-villains while trying to lead a somewhat normal life with his friends Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy.
