Superman

Superman is a superhero created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster in 1938. He is an alien hailing from the planet Krypton, sent to Earth as an infant to escape the destruction of his homeworld. Adopted by two farmers from Kansas, he was rechristened as "Clark Kent" and grew up to become a newspaper reporter in the city of Metropolis. His powers include super-strength, super-speed, flight, x-ray vision, and heat vision. He is considered the first, and greatest superhero, and appropriately, he has been the subject of a number of television programs:
