Biography
Richard Dean Anderson is best known as MacGyver. He grew up in Minnesota, and as a kid dreamed of being a hockey player. However, an injury had made this dream impossible. He still remains a hockey fan and even started the Celebrity All Star Hockey team. As a teenager, he went on a bicycle trip from Minnesota through Canada and Alaska. It was his mother that introduced him to acting when she got him involved in community theatre. As a young adult, he went on to study drama at St. Cloud State University and Ohio University. However, he left before he finished his degree. However, because he was good at his craft he was able to land a role in the soap opera General Hospital, but it was the show MacGyver that made him a star. After the show ended, he joined the cast of popular sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 only to leave the show in 2005. Richard Dean Anderson has not married, but has a daughter, Wylie Quinn Annarose Anderson, (b. 2 Aug 1998) with his long-time partner Apryl Prose.
