NOTICE: SHUTTING DOWN 4 JAN 2015

On January 4, 2015, I will be shutting down the server that hosts The TV IV website. It has been a very long time since I've been able to put any decent amount of time into the site, and ad revenue is plummeting. I think it is time to shut it down or hand it off to someone who can keep it going properly. If you are interested in taking over the site's code and data, contact administrators at tviv.org. --CygnusTMtalk

Stargate Atlantis is a Stargate SG-1 spin-off series airing on the Sci Fi Channel. Where SG-1 is based on Earth, Stargate Atlantis takes place, obviously enough, in the city of Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy. The show's first season received good ratings and the show was renewed for the 2005–2006 season. The first season premiere episode takes place right after the events of Stargate SG-1's Season 7 finale, "Lost City (2)".

Stargate Atlantis is notable for breaking with SG-1's military motif; rather than having the Atlantis project led by a military officer such as General George Hammond or General Jack O'Neill, it is commanded by civilian diplomat Doctor Elizabeth Weir. Weir's Atlantis team is a joint multinational effort, with scientists and support crew from various Earth countries including Germany, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as a sizable United States military element under the command of Lt. Colonel John Sheppard.

Pegasus Productions produced Stargate Atlantis in association with MGM Television, which also distributes the show.
