Basic Information
Karone was born on the planet KO-35, along with her brother, Andros. While playing in a field, when they both were still young children, Karone was kidnapped by Darkonda and raised by Ecliptor to be evil. She was granted the title, Princess of Evil by Dark Specter, whom was the most feared villain in the galaxy.
Karone, now being referred to as Astronema, was told that her parents and brother were murdered by the Power Rangers. However, Astronema somehow knew that her brother was alive somewhere. When in battle with the Red Ranger, her locket flies off. Andros finds the locket, only to learn that Astronema was the sister he was looking for all along. Astronema grabs it away from him, only to find that he has one, too.
After some convincing, from both Andros and Ecliptor, Astronema denounces her evil ways and becomes Karone again-- and once the other rangers are convinced, they make her an honorary Power Ranger. Her time as Karone then becomes short-lived, as Dark Specter sends a meteor towards Earth, and the only way to stop it is to get aboard the Dark Fortress. Karone disguises herself as Astronema, only to run into a reprogrammed Ecliptor. He carries her away as the rangers listen on through her concealed microphone that dropped to the floor. Andros and Zhane have no choice but to go in after her. When finding her, however, they realize that she has been reprogrammed herself.
The new-and-improved Astronema then called forth the Psycho Rangers, creatures that knew every move the Space Rangers would make, before they made it. It was revealed that she was using the Psycho Rangers to drain Dark Specter's energy, so that she could become ruler of the galaxy. After the Psycho Rangers were destroyed, and Darkonda and Dark Specter destroyed each other, Astronema sent forces to attack several planets in the galaxy. She brought her Dark Fortress to Earth, to seek out the Power Rangers. Andros then snuck aboard, hoping to get his sister to stop all of this. It was then that he discovered Zordon, who told him that destroying his energy tube would destroy all of the evil that was attacking throughout the galaxy. After some hesitation, Andros finally shattered Zordon's tube and all of the evil was either turned to dust, or good-- all except Astronema, who was knocked out by defensive blast beforehand.
Andros carried his sister down the ramp of the Dark Fortress, laying her on the ground. Tears begun to roll down his face, landing on Astronema. It was then that she reverted to Karone. She, Andros and Zhane said goodbye to the other rangers on their newly re-inhabited home planet, KO-35. However, they just couldn't seem to say goodbye just yet, going back to Earth with them.
After Psycho Pink had, indirectly, destroyed Kendrix, her Quasar Saber had gone missing. Karone went in disguise as Astronema yet again, this time to retrieve the saber from an auction on Onyx. Trakeena then showed up, revealing Karone's trick on her fellow villains. She fought with Trakeena over the saber, which led to Trakeena pushing her over the edge-- only to be caught by Kendrix' ghost. Kendrix passed on her Pink Galaxy Ranger powers to Karone, and Karone took back the Quasar Saber from Trakeena.
When Trakeena sent out a monster that was destroying the rangers' morphers, Karone remembered a powerful warrior that she had turned to stone. Leo went with Karone to the cave, where she was faced with her past self-- Astronema. Astronema took Leo captive, only for Karone to sacrifice herself for him, causing Astronema to vanish. Once inside the cave, the two realized the warrior's weapon was gone. They began to leave, only for Karone to turn back and apologize to the statue. He would then give her his weapon, which would allow Leo to activate his Battlizer.
After arriving on Mirinoi, and defeating Trakeena, Karone and the other rangers placed their Quasar Sabers back in the stone. This resurrected Kendrix and revived the planet's citizens.
Character History
Memorable Moments
- 6x23 - A Date with Danger: Astronema asks the Silver Ranger out on a date, to which he accepts.
Trivia
- When the Space Rangers make Karone an honorary ranger in Dark Specter's Revenge, she is seen wearing a purple uniform. This could mean that if such a power existed, she would have become the purple ranger. A similar instance with Billy's girlfriend, Cestria from Rangers of Two Worlds, alludes that she would have been the Pink Aquitian Ranger if such a power existed.
- Technically, Karone is the only female ranger to be both yellow and pink ranger. She became the Yellow Space Ranger after being transformed into an Ashley doppelganger in Invasion of the Body Switcher, and then the Pink Galaxy Ranger after Kendrix died in battle.
