Andros, a human from the planet KO-35, is portrayed by Christopher Khayman Lee. Originally, Andros acted as a loner, slowly opening up throughout the progression of the season. His loner persona was caused by losing his sister, Karone and best friend, Zhane--along with the entire civilization on his home planet.

As a young child, Andros and his sister would dream of becoming Power Rangers. However, one day when the two were playing, Karone was abducted by Darkonda. Andros devoted his life to finding her, only to realize that she had grown into the person that swore to destroy him, Astronema the Princess of Evil. After they both learned of this, Andros brought her on board the Astro Megaship, much to the displeasure of his teammates. She soon earned their trust, only to be turned evil once again.

Andros fought alongside his best friend, Zhane in battle--as the Red and Silver Rangers, respectively--until Zhane was severely injured. Andros cryogenically froze him, hoping to one day fight along side him again. That is, until one day the Astro Megaship crashed and Zhane awoke. Zhane was much more of a free spirit than Andros, and because of his friendliness with Ashley, Andros was afraid he would steal her away.

• Andros is the first Ranger with a genetic ability: telekinesis. His teammate Zhane also possesses this ability, as it's common on his home planet of KO-35.
• Andros is the first human Ranger not from Earth. The Rangers of Aquitar and Trey were not from Earth, but also not human.
• Andros is the first Red Ranger to receive the annual Battlizer.
