Biography
Michael J. Fox is a Canadian actor, director and producer who became one of the top stars of the 1980s with his role as Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties and his appearances in the classic Back to the Future trilogy, among other films. In the 1990s, he experienced a revival with his role as New York mayoral chief of staff Michael Flaherty on Spin City. Several seasons into that show, he announced that he suffered from Parkinson's disease. Since then, he has continued to make several TV and film appearances while becoming a leading advocate for medical research into Parkinson's and other nervous system diseases.
