Late Show with David Letterman is a comedy talk show that aired on CBS. It is the spiritual successor to Late Night with David Letterman, a late night talk show that was broadcast on NBC which David Letterman hosted between 1982 and 1993. In April 2014, Letterman announced his retirement, and the final show aired on May 20, 2015. The successor show will be The Late Show with Stephen Colbert starring Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report and previously The Daily Show.
