Douglas Petrie is an American writer, director and producer who got his start in television as a writer for Nickelodeon series like Clarissa Explains It All and Rugrats before becoming an integral part of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer writing team in 1998. He is also occasionally credited as "Doug Petrie".
