Trivia

• Gone Fishing: Joyce sees a very limited role in season four because the actress, Kristine Sutherland, asked for a lesser commitment to the show to spend more time with her family. As a result, she only appears in five episodes in season four.
• Foreshadowing: In 4x22 - Restless, Joyce shows up trapped in a wall and unable to get out in Buffy's dream. This was a foreshadowing clue for Joyce's death in season five.
