Two of the Cylons' plans go awry; both the attempted executions and the ambush of the insurgents' rendezvous with the team from the Galactica are thwarted, potentially the start of a turnaround for the fortunes of the human settlers of New Caprica.

Meanwhile, D'Anna is inspired by dreams to believe that the human-cylon baby Hera remains alive despite widespread belief to the contrary.

Back at the escaped fleet, final preparations for the rescue mission are under way. The Galactica is to carry out the rescue mission, with the Pegasus and the civilian fleet waiting at a meeting point for eighteen hours.

On the ground, the insurgents are prepared to strike for maximum confusion in aid of the Galactica's daring rescue attempt…
