Alias (2001–2006) follows Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) and her career as a spy for the United States government. Originally a show designed around the inner workings of SD-6, a terrorist organization masquerading as a top secret black ops division of the CIA, the show saw several changes in format, causing Sydney to eventually work for the actual CIA agency and later to APO in future seasons. The show also prominently features the designs of Milo Rambaldi, a prophet from the Renaissance who prophecies the coming of the Chosen One and the destruction of the world.

In 2006 the show was cancelled by ABC, citing declining ratings as the reason. Jennifer Garner's pregnancy was rumored to have been a catalyst for its cancellation, and rumors floated that series creator J.J. Abrams considered the possibility of a spinoff, possibly starring the popular freelance terrorist Sark. However, concrete plans never fabricated and the project is assumed to be not actively pursued.

Alias was produced by Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, in association with Touchstone Television. Disney/ABC Domestic Television handles distribution of the series.
