Plot Overview

Jonesy, Jude and Wyatt are all excited about seeing Dragon Thunder, the new martial arts action movie premiering at the Gigantoplex. Meanwhile, the movie is the last thing on the girls' minds, as all three are acting strangely—Caitlin has become moody and grumpy and is snapping at random people, Nikki has become more emotional and friendly and Jen is suffering from abdominal cramps. All six had been looking forward to the movie, and the guys are left puzzled by what's happening with the girls, which they resolve to find out.

Jonesy gets a job at the Super Terrific Happy Sushi restaurant, where he annoys owner Hiro and head chef Kuni with his antics. Hiro endeavors to teach Jonesy the way of "Karashi" (what he calls the blending of the arts of karate and sushi preparation).

Wyatt heads to the Khaki Barn to ask Nikki if she is still up for seeing the movie later, then gets weirded out when he sees her blissfully caressing a one-pound chocolate bar and leaves the store as Nikki offers him a bite. Jude is freaked out by Caitlin and her emotional state and is afraid to talk to her. Jonesy attempts to call Jen at the Penalty Box, but Jen (who normally takes personal calls at work) refuses to take Jonesy's call and hangs up.

Back at the Penalty Box, Jen gives herself a penalty in the store's penalty box for borrowing merchandise (she needed a hot water bottle to help relieve her cramps, which she explains to Coach Halder), and Nikki is in the box with her for company when Caitlin comes into the store in need of a tampon. Jen makes a realization and puts the clues together—between her cramps, Nikki munching on chocolate (a food item she normally hates) and Caitlin's moodiness, she discovers that the menstrual cycles of all three girls have synced up, which she considers a sign of close friendship. The girls then head to a drugstore, where Jen buys herself a box of anti-cramp muscle relaxant (which makes her sleepy when she takes it), Caitlin gets an herbal tea called Tranquil Tide (designed to relieve moodiness and other symptoms of Premenstrual syndrome), Nikki buys more chocolate, and all three get tampons. Jen refuses to bring the items to the checkout counter because she knows the cashier, Carson, so she sends Caitlin to make the payment.

Jonesy discovers that the girls, who had purchased the movie tickets earlier, still have the tickets with them, and the guys are unable to get more Dragon Thunder tickets because the movie is sold out (which Darth, who is also in the ticket lineup, ridicules them on). At a loss on what else to do, Jonesy takes Jude and Wyatt to meet Hiro, who figures out what the guys' problem is and shows them how to deal with it using one of his Karashi methods. During the lesson, Jonesy suddenly remembers that the tickets are being kept in Nikki's backpack, so he, Wyatt and Jude take off to retrieve them, and Hiro fires Jonesy for leaving the restaurant while on duty.

While Jen, Caitlin and Nikki are out clothes shopping, the guys sneak into the store and swipe the girls' bags, then search through the bags for the tickets—only to freak out when they discover tampons inside. Jonesy, Jude and Wyatt finally figure out what's up with the girls when Jen, Caitlin and Nikki show up and chase the guys to the food court (except Jen, who's practically sleepwalking due to her anti-cramp pills), where they demand to know why their bags were stolen. When Jonesy explains, Caitlin points out that she had earlier given the tickets to Jude to hold on to.

The "female troubles" eventually a distant memory, the gang emerges excitedly from the movie a few hours later, having enjoyed it and thrilled that the ending left open the possibility of a sequel. Jonesy, deciding to put his new Karashi skills to the test, then challenges Darth to a light saber duel in the food court and defeats the overconfident Star Wars geek by knocking his light saber out of his hands, then further humiliating Darth by pantsing him (showing his shirt tucked into his underwear) as the gang cheers. Hiro is impressed by Jonesy's skill, then reminds him that he's still fired, much to Jonesy's chagrin.
