WJXX is the ABC affiliate for the Jacksonville, Florida market. Licensed to the city of Orange Park, WJXX broadcasts on digital channel 10, displayed on digital tuners through PSIP as virtual channel 25. Its subcarrier on 10.2 (virtual 25.2) is First Coast News Weather Plus. Its sister station is NBC affiliate WTLV/digital channel 13, virtual 12.
WJXX signed on in 1997 as an ABC affiliate after previous ABC affiliate WJKS/channel 17 switched to the WB (it's now a CW affiliate). Allbitron owned WJXX first, then Gannett bought it thanks to a loophole regarding ownership of two or more stations in a given market since WJXX was the newest station and low-rated. Both WJXX and WTLV air First Coast News, staffed and produced by WTLV. In 2015, Gannett split off its broadcast media division and renamed it Tegna Media.
Via cable, WJXX served as the default ABC affiliate for the Albany GA market until the subcarrier for NBC affiliate WALB started up as that market's ABC outlet in 2011.
