WJBF is an ABC affiliate located in Augusta, Georgia. It operates on digital channel 42 and virtual channel 6. The station is owned by Nexstar Media Group. They controlled NBC affiliate WAGT/channel 26 through a shared sales agreement but now WAGT has been replaced by WAGT-CD, which originally was on channel 16 but moved to the 26 spot the original WAGT vacated. Gray owns it and CBS affiliate WRDW/channel 12.
Schurz sold WAGT to Gray Television (owners of CBS affiliate WRDW) who planned to sell it off in the incentive auction but Media General filed an injunction to prevent it. This was in violation of the Communications Act (section 310d) which would constitute Media General's license being revoked upon judicial review. Media General was merged with Nexstar in 2018 to become Nexstar Media Group.
