The White Stripes were an American alternative rock duo who were instrumental in the garage rock revival of the late 1990s. The band was composed of Jack White on guitar, lead vocals and piano, along with Meg White on drums and percussion. The band has proved to be popular on late night television, and have gone as far as performing for an entire week on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 2003. In return, the band asked Conan O'Brien to make an appearance in their music video for "The Denial Twist." They were also the first band to ever appear and perform on a regular episode of The Daily Show.
