Trivia
- The running joke of Dr. Cox calling J.D. girl names originated from when the writers noticed John C. McGinley doing the same to Zach Braff on set.
- "Sacred Heart Hospital" is named after a school which Christa Miller Lawrence attended.
- There is a cell-phone on set with the number 1-916-CALL-TUR(K), a number mentioned in one of the season 4 episodes. Although typically the phone sends the caller straight to a voicemail recording by a cast member, occasionally a member of the cast or crew will pick up and talk briefly during breaks.
- Neil Flynn's Character the Janitor has never been named. In the scripts he is referred to as "Janitor".
- Neil Flynn ad-libs many of his lines.
