ABC Television is the state-owned Australian Broadcasting Corporation's public television service.

ABC Television currently operates four national channels, the over-the-air ABC (which was the original ABC Television from its first sign-on on November 5, 1956 until 2005, then rebranded as ABC1 until July 20, 2014) and three digital-only networks, ABC Comedy (a comedy channel, formerly known as ABC2), which launched on March 7, 2005, ABC Me (a children's programming channel, formerly known as ABC3), which went on the air on December 4, 2009, and ABC News (a 24-hour news channel), which began broadcasting on July 22, 2010. The channels run primarily Australian content, but also shows foreign programming (imported mainly from BBC One and ITV1 in the United Kingdom, with some American and Canadian children's programs also included). The ABC has also announced plans for future ABC Television channels to be signed on, including ABC5 (an educational channel) and ABC6 (which will air English-language foreign programming).
