[edit] Plot Overview
My Old Lady follows the interns as they deal with the simple fact that 1 in 3 patients will die in their care.
JD gets the titular 'Old Lady' (an old woman in renal failure) while Turk deals with a young hernia patient. Elliot flounders with a woman who only speaks spanish and is forced to rely on Carla to translate. Each of these patients has a lesson for the interns. JD's patient sneaks out of the hospital to attend her granddaughter's birthday party in the park then floors JD by refusing treatment for a serious condition. Turk learns about connecting with his patients by watching a classic football game as Elliot struggles with a decision that could easily kill her patient.
As each patient takes a turn for the worse, JD, Turk and Elliot are each forced to really face death for the first time.
