KGO-TV is the ABC affiliate in San Francisco, California. It broadcasts on digital channel 24.
KGO-TV signed on the air May 5, 1949 as an ABC owned-and-operated station broadcasting on channel 7. At one time, the San Francisco market had two ABC affiliates, KGO and KNTV (now an NBC affiliate), ABC gave both KGO and KNTV rights to broadcast ABC programming. The feud ended in 2000 when KNTV dumped ABC for The WB. Currently, as an ABC owned-and-operated station, KGO clears the entire ABC lineup as well as former sister station KVII-TV in Amarillo, Texas.
