Plot Overview

Jen, Courtney and their mother try out bridesmaid dresses for the sisters at Huntington's Department Store when they discuss the issue of where they will live once Mrs. Masterson gets married to Jonesy's father in one week. Jen wants to remain in her current house, but Mrs. Masterson points out that the Garcia house is bigger and will more easily house the expanded family after the wedding, while Courtney adds that when Jonesy and his younger brother Diego move up into the house's attic loft space to use as their new bedroom, she and Jen will get the brothers' old rooms. Courtney comes out from her changing stall with her dress fitting her perfectly, but Jen's dress is ill-fitting on top because of her smaller bust size compared with Courtney, even though both wear the same dress size.

Jonesy, Diego and their youngest brother Robbie are not thrilled about their father remarrying either, and they take their feelings about the pending marriage out on Jen and Courtney at the Big Squeeze. Of particular contention among the soon-to-be stepsiblings is a chair in the Garcia living room dubbed by the boys as the "eating chair", which whoever eats the most on any particular night gets to sit in it while watching their favorite TV show; Jen and Courtney consider the rule over the eating chair unfair because they know Jonesy and his brothers will always eat more than they do. Jen and Courtney also bristle over the state the Garcia boys leave the upstairs bathroom in in the mornings, while Jonesy complains about having to listen to the Masterson girls' "chick music" at night (a point on which Wyatt agrees).

Back at Huntington's for another wedding outfit fitting, Jen gets her bridesmaid dress resized but now finds the dress too tight on her, while Courtney crosses over to the neighboring change room where the Garcia brothers are trying on tuxedos. Courtney objects to the green bowties the boys are wearing, telling them that they have to be color-matched with the purple bridesmaid dresses, then she and Jen get mad when they discover from Jonesy that Grind Me, where Mrs. Masterson's bridal shower is scheduled to take place, has been unexpectedly double-booked with a stag party for Mr. Garcia the same night. While Courtney tells Jonesy to move the stag and Jonesy refuses (noting that the stag was booked first), Robbie sneaks over to the Mastersons' side of the change rooms and attempts to look up Jen's dress, but Jen catches him in the act and kicks him away toward the changing stalls, then yells to Jonesy to keep his bratty brother under control. When Jonesy crosses over to confirm his refusal to move the stag party, he gets more than he bargained for when he accidentally sees Jen, who has just dropped her dress to the floor, in just her panties. A horrified Jen screams, covers her breasts and runs back into her stall, and an embarrassed Jonesy sheepishly tells his brothers that they will move the stag. Later at the Big Squeeze when Diego mentions Jonesy seeing Jen topless to the gang and laughs, Nikki slaps Diego in the face and tells him to be more respectful of his future stepsister.

At the electronics store Things that Beep, the Garcia boys plan to purchase a Tush Control 3000 massage chair as a wedding gift for their father and to-be stepmother, but Jen and Courtney object, accusing Jonesy of only wanting to get the chair for himself, Diego and Robbie. Jonesy puts the matter to a vote and the Garcias, outnumbering the Masterson sisters three to two, easily win and get to buy the chair. Later at the mall's centre court fountain, while Robbie urinates into the fountain pool, Jonesy is on the phone with his father when he gets some news from Mr. Garcia (concerning the attic loft) that angers him, so he marches over with his brothers to the Big Squeeze, where Jen and Courtney are going over paint color patterns, and reveals the news he got from his father—he found out that Jen and Courtney have taken the loft space for themselves, usurping Jonesy and Diego's claim to it, and he accuses the sisters of manipulating Mr. Garcia into giving them the loft, apparently as revenge for the boys getting the TC3000 chair. As a result, Jonesy rescinds his offer to move their father's stag party and announces that it will go ahead as scheduled at Grind Me, to which Jen and Courtney strongly protest.

At Grind Me, things get out of hand between the two parties when each starts playing their background music a little louder to drown out the sound of the other (classical for the bridal shower, country for the stag) and Jonesy goes streaking through the coffee house while Jude moons the bridal shower, leading Grind Me manager Charmaine to get fed up with the racket as she kicks both parties out and closes up the shop early. The following day during a wedding rehearsal dinner for the two families at Super Terrific Happy Sushi (also attended by Jude, Wyatt, Nikki and Caitlin at Jonesy and Jen's invitation), Jen and Diego get into a food fight while Courtney catches Jonesy looking at her breasts and calls him a pervert for it. Having enough of the fighting between their children, Mr. Garcia and Mrs. Masterson get their attention and announce that the wedding will be postponed until the kids all reach adulthood in a few years, then sadly walk off together. Realizing what they have done and forced to admit that their parents do make each other happy, Jen, Courtney and the Garcia brothers wonder what to do to make amends until Nikki steps in and recruits Ron the Rent-a-cop to help settle matters. After each of the Garcia and Masterson offspring air their grievances during a talk, Ron writes up a set of family bylaws intended to work out compromises among the future stepsiblings and bring order to the new family, then tells them to go tell their parents that the wedding is back on.

The wedding day finally arrives as Mr. Garcia and Mrs. Masterson get to say their "I Do's". Prior to the wedding vows, while Robbie again tries to look up Jen and Courtney's dresses, Jen and her mother have a last-minute talk before they start marching down the aisle, but right as Jen begins her march, Robbie rips the bow off the back of her dress, leaving a hole in the back through which Jen's panties can be seen. Later at the reception dinner and dance, while Ron enjoys a big slice of wedding cake at the catering table and Caitlin and Jude share a slow dance, Courtney catches Diego looking at her breasts as they dance. While Jonesy and Jen also have a slow dance together, Jonesy reminds Jen of the hole in the seat of her dress and that everyone can see her panties, and an embarrassed Jen (who did not notice the hole until Jonesy told her of it) runs off with a yell, covering her butt as Jonesy muses about how he's going to enjoy having sisters around.

Meanwhile, Nikki comes under suspicion by The Clones of stealing from the Khaki Barn when various items begin disappearing from the store. An incredulous Nikki proclaims her innocence, maintaining that she would never be caught dead with anything from the store because she hates everything the Khaki Barn sells, but The Clones refuse to believe her and insist that she has the stolen items. Kirsten and Kristen later tackle Nikki as she comes into the store from her break and escort her to the staff lounge, where Chrissy tells Nikki that she could fire her if she had proof of Nikki stealing but is currently just suspicious of her, then makes Nikki switch her backpack for a transparent bag in which all her personal items are clearly visible (which Robbie later attempts to get a closeup look at, only to earn a pieface shove to the food court floor from Nikki for his trouble). Chrissy later calls in Ron to deal with the matter, further annoying Nikki (and causing Stanley the brat, who is in the store unsupervised, to suspiciously sneak away when he overhears Ron talking). When Ron follows Nikki into the staff washroom (and then gets chased out when Nikki screams at him, then waits outside for her), she finally has enough of the harassment and quits her job. The Clones celebrate finally getting rid of Nikki, but end up getting humbled moments later when they discover the true culprit behind the thefts—Stanley, who is brought into the store by his mother and forced to apologize for stealing after he was caught with the stolen items. Realizing that Nikki was innocent all along, Chrissy heads to the wedding rehearsal dinner at the sushi place and admits to Nikki what really happened as she, Kirsten and Kristen give Nikki back her backpack and apologize. When Nikki threatens to call the Khaki Barn head office to tell them how she had been harassed and falsely accused of theft by The Clones, Chrissy concedes and offers Nikki more perks to return to work (including choosing her own shifts, free access to the store's elite washroom and three more breaks per day), which Nikki accepts.

Quotes

  • Jen (to Nikki): Can you believe such a nice dad has such annoying sons?
Nikki: I know! They must've been adopted or something. (Jen giggles)
  • Courtney (seeing the Garcia boys seated in the TC3000 chairs): No! No way!
Jen: Oh, we are not getting them a massage chair! You guys just want it for yourselves!
Diego (right as the chair's massage feature kicks in) : Frankly, I'm insulted that you would even say tha-a-a-a-a-a!
Courtney: A Tush Control 3000 is not an appropriate wedding gift!
Jonesy: Oh wait, the lumbar cycle's about to start! Wait for it...wait for it... (the cycle starts up and Jonesy, Diego and Robbie all sigh blissfully)
    Jen: No way, Jonesy!
Jonesy: There's an easy way to settle this—we'll do it the democratic way and take a vote. All in favor of the Tush Control 3000, say "aye"! (all three brothers say "aye")
Jonesy (to Jen and Courtney): Sorry, we can't help it if you're outnumbered! (hands off a credit card to the store salesman) Ring this up, my good man, and tie a bow on it—it's a gift!
  • Courtney (to Diego, as they slow dance at their parents' wedding reception): Hey, you can stop staring at my boobs any time! Gosh, you guys are annoying.
Diego: Yeah, but you'll grow to love us.
